Other Railway Property

The Property Listing on this website shows all property owned by BRB (Residuary) Limited, except for bridges and tunnels that we are unable to sell. There are a large number of other former railway sites, but these were sold by British Rail. Many, including most closed railways, were sold decades ago. BRB (Residuary) Limited does not hold information concerning current ownership of former railway lines and land.

Most operational railways, with trains running on them, are owned by Network Rail.

Transport for London is responsible for the London Underground system and Croydon Tramlink. Other local railway systems include Tyne & Wear Metro and Manchester Metrolink. If you want information about property on one of these systems, please contact the relevant owner. Property associated with the Channel Tunnel Rail Link is the responsibility of London & Continental Stations & Property.

If you wish to rent a station trading unit at a Network Rail station, you need to contact the train operating company that runs the station or Network Rail itself in the case of a few major stations. Links to the train operating companies' websites can be found on the National Rail website.
